Yesterday 1300 plants of the variety Xarello was planted in our vineyard.
We look forward to see them grow strong and healthy!
This week we will plant our new vineyard with the local grape Xarello.
On the photo you can see how the earth has been prepared for the new vines.
January means the beginning of the Calçots season, a strong tradition here in Catalunya. A Calçot is a type of onion that we barbecue before dipping it into the Romesco Sauce – a sauce made from tomato, peppers, almonds, garlic, oil and vinegar. The best “Calçotades” are the ones celebrated among good friends and family. Below photos from last week’s Calçotada. It was a warm Saturday afternoon. To prepare great Calçots the fire should always be prepared with branches from the vineyard.
Thanks to your support in 2016 we have managed to become the 3rd best B&B in Catalonia according to the guest votes on Booking.com.
We will continue to work with excitement to be even better in 2017. Happy New Year!

Spring is here and our Xarel-lo vineyard is slowly growing. This photo is from last Saturday evening just before sunset.
One of the surest signs that spring is almost here is when the almond trees begin to bloom. The vines stay asleep for another month though and are not awakened from their winter sleep until the end of March. Yesterday when the picture was taken, we had 17 degrees and sunshine.
